The eighth annual Optima Conference will virtually take place from October 13–15, 2022, and be hosted by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and the Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), the world leaders in fitness certifications. More than 100 instructional seminars, workouts, and networking opportunities are free to registered guests, including a keynote address by Kelly McGonigal, PhD, a health psychologist and New York Times bestselling book.
Laurie McCartney, president of Ascend Learning’s fitness and wellness brands, which include NASM and AFAA, stated, “We are very happy to have Kelly join us for Optima as she provides revolutionary knowledge about the physical and mental benefits of exercise.” We are able to give the broadest public access to the most recent and ground-breaking advances in the business by making this event free for the second consecutive year.
A virtual exhibitor hall with new vendors, lectures on a range of health and fitness themes, and improved group workout experiences are all part of the three-day online event.
McGonigal, the keynote speaker, is best known for her TED Talk, “How to Make Stress Your Friend,” which has had over 23 million views and ranks among the top 20 most popular TED presentations of all time. The Willpower Instinct, The Upside of Stress, and The Joy of Movement are just a few of the works she has written.
One of the premier conferences for professionals in the health and wellness sector, Optima won a Gold Stevie International Business Award for “Best Educational Conference.” More than 10,000 people attended the conference the previous year, among them personal trainers, wellness coaches, athletes, massage therapists, and managers of health clubs.
However, attendees will also have the option to purchase the Full Access Pass with Continuing Education Units (CEUs), which gives attendees the chance to earn credits toward recertification requirements based on their attendance and participation throughout the conference. The Full Access Pass is free with registration, but attendees will also have the option to purchase the Full Access Pass with CEUs.
